A life long lover of the Cello.

Cornelia grew up in upstate New York in a musical household. Her father was a pianist and teacher at the Waldorf School where she and her younger siblings attended. She started playing cello at age 9, just as the family moved from the States to Vienna, Austria, where her father was offered a job as music teacher.

In the formative years that they lived there, age 9 through 12, she was influenced by the cultural offerings, including live orchestral classical music and opera. As a young adult she returned to Europe and attended Emerson College in England, where she studied music improvisation, voice training, speech and drama. Upon returning to the states she found herself drawn to the famous artist town of Woodstock, where she settled into the community and enjoyed a thriving massage therapy practice as she raised her son.

Life in the Hudson Valley offered many opportunities, from being part of a cello ensemble with Garfield Moore, to joining the student-community Orchestra at Bard College. She then became a member of the six-piece instrumental band, Mamalama, specializing in original compositions of sacred music. Then joined the Free River Band which combined classical, traditional folk, and contemporary music.

Always expanding her musical boundaries, she studies with Byron Duckwall, in the Dounis Method, which develops a deeper understanding of native instincts in the playing of string instruments. And, continues to learn Indian Raga with bonsuri flutist Steve Gorn.

Cornelia is passionate about offering her cello music for Wedding ceremonies and other sacred events. And also creates original music for sound healing. She enjoys country living on the banks of the Hudson river with her husband Paul and their two dogs.
